What is Swatch Internet Time? It is a new system of time developed by Swatch, the Swiss watch maker. It involves setting the current day into 1000 "beats" instead of 24 hours. Internet Time eliminates the need for geographical time zones, perfect for the internet. A more detailed explanation of Swatch Internet Time can be found on my about page. But don't take it from me, go to the Swatch Internet Time page where it is explained much better that I could do here. Where is Internet Time being used? Swatch Internet Time has not been around for very long. However, many sites are already switching over. I am compiling a directory of sites around the world which are featuring Internet Time on their pages. If you are a webmaster, you can add your own page to the directory, so the world can find your internet time enabled site. This page serves as a "fan page" for Swatch Internet Time, as well as a links list, and a directory of sites that use Internet Time. As well, I also list sites which feature utilities and developer resources for using Internet Time. And don't forget about the message board, where you can talk with other internet time enthusiasts. Any ideas of other things to put up for a "fan page" let me know at ryanthiessen@iname.com. |
